One of them was the introduction of the second-generation "safety island light box" from the United Kingdom. The reason why it is called "Morrison Light" is probably to commemorate its introduction - Morrison, the senior police officer of the Department of Transportation.

The characteristic of this new light is that it uses lower-cost plastic materials, and has a light bulb placed in a plastic shell, which emits light at night so that drivers can see it from any direction. It is cheap and high-quality during the trial period. It was widely praised. Another major breakthrough is the replacement of traffic symbols with international standards, which use arrows instead of cumbersome text descriptions to allow drivers to make driving decisions more quickly.

It was reported that the first batch of trial installations appeared on Garden Road, Nathan Road and To Kwa Wan Road, and there were two styles. It is worth mentioning that the now common big-head design has never appeared in the UK. This may be what the newspaper calls an "improvement" and can be regarded as a local design in Hong Kong.
