A rare "door slamming" accident occurred in the MTR. At about 6pm today (2nd) evening, an Island Line train bound for Kennedy Town suddenly collided when it entered Causeway Bay Station. A car door flew off and fell onto the track.
Affected by the accident, Hong Kong Island Line services were disrupted during off-duty peak hours. Train services between Wan Chai and Quarry Bay Station were suspended, between Kennedy Town and Wan Chai Station, and between Quarry Bay and Chai Wan Station, maintaining a frequency of four minutes. By 8:50 p.m., train services returned to normal.
Affected by the accident, bus stops in Central District, Wan Chai, North Point and other places were crowded with people waiting to go home.
